Creating a Recording Channel
ScreenPal channels can be used to consolidate and organize recordings. Channels can then be shared via URL or inserted directly into Canvas.
Additionally, channels can be set up to have a recorder link that will automatically add any videos creating using that link to the channel. This can be used by professors to have all student projects stored in one place.
Logging Into ScreenPal
In a browser, navigate to ScreenPal
Click Log In and select Login with Google
3. When prompted, enter your Bay Path email address and password
4. If you are not automatically brought to the Beta View, we recommend switching to this view by clicking the Switch to Beta View button
Creating a Recording Channel
Hover over Channels and click the +New button
2. Provide a name and description for the channel
3. Select an access level for the channel
Authenticated User: only users who have signed in with their Bay Path email can access it
Unlisted: anyone with the link can access it
Password Protected: anyone with the link and the password you've assigned can access it
Public: the channel is publicly available and searchable on the web
Note: we recommend using either the Unlisted or Authenticated User option
4. If you wish to allow other people to record and add videos directly to your channel, check the box that says Allow users to Launch Recorder in Channel. You will then be able to configure additional settings
5. To create a unique web page that you can direct users to to create and upload their recordings, select On Standalone Page and then create a unique URL for the recorder
6. Configure the remaining settings to customize some additonal options
Prompt User for Title: require a title. You may also provide a note to the users (ie. how you would like the recording to be named)
Prompt User for Description: require a description of the video. You may also provide a note to users for what you would like in this field
Customize the message they will receive once the video is uploaded

Send Email: Enter an email address to notify whenever a video is uploaded
Note: we do not recommend configuring any other options
Click Save Channel
Publishing Your Channel/Recorder
Publish on the web
Video Channel
The URL to view the channel and its video can be obtained by first clicking on the name of the channel from the menu in the left navigation bar
2. Click the Copy Link button to copy the URL of the channel to your clipboard. You can now paste the URL into a web browser, share it via email or any other platform
3. Visiting the URL will provide the user with a playlist of videos and a video player to watch them
Channel Recorder
The URL of the video recorder can be obtained by clicking on the name of the channel from the menu in the left navigation bar
2. Click the Edit button to open the Channel Editor window
3. Locate the URL under the Recorder Location heading. All URL's will begin with https://baypath.screencasthost.com/
4. Visiting the URL will provide the user with a link to launch the recorder directly from the browser
5. Clicking Record Screencast will download a small web recorder file. Once launched, the user will be able to create a recording. When completed, they will have the option to delete the recording or immediately upload it to your channel
6. Once uploaded, it will be available to view on your channel page
Publishing in Canvas
Video Channel
From the Canvas rich content editor, click the Screencast-o-matic icon
2. Select the Channel tab and select the channel you wish to embed
3. Click the Embed button to place the content
4. The list of available videos in your channel will now be available to view
5. Click Save to make the content available to your students
6. Students will be able to click on a video to open it and view it in a new window
Channel Recorder
From the Canvas rich content editor, click the Screencast-o-matic icon
2. Select the Recorder tab and select the channel recorder you wish to embed
3. Click the Embed button to place the content
4. The channel recorder link will now be shown
5. Click Save to make the recorder available to your students
